The Italian keyboardist Roberto Di Gioia began playing keyboards at the age of four. Growing up in the late 60s in Milan, it was the melodic sound of the Beatles that were his favorite band though it was the jazz world where his career began. Moving to Munich inthe early 90s, he began his career playing as a keyboardist for the renowned jazz saxophonist Klaus Doldinger and his band,“Passport.” Over the next decade, Di Gioia played with such American jazz giants as Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, James Moody, Dave Holland and Woody Shaw. In recent time, he has been involved with such bands the Notwist (“Neon Golden”), Console (“Reset the Preset”) and Voom Voom, where he met G-Stone co-founder Peter Kruder and producer Christian Prommer.
